Law Handbook Online with Peter Cundall

Launch of the Law Handbook Online

On 23 June 2009, Peter Cundall the former ABC Gardening Australia host together with the Attorney-General Rob Hulls launched the new Law Handbook Online. Revamped redesigned and updated the Law Handbook Online was launched as a free legal information service to the public.

This is a remarkable achievement in the 33 year long journey of the Law Handbook. First published in 1977 the publication has grown into a well respected 1000 page plain English guide to the law in Victoria.

A huge crowd consisting of past and present supporters of the Law Handbook turned out in force to celebrate the launch of the online service and to celebrate this significant milestone. The Attorney-General Rob Hulls and Victoria Marles the Executive Officer of the Legal Services Board gave rousing speeches in support of access to justice. Peter Cundall stole the show with his humourous meander through his misadventures with the law during his youth in England and World War Two.

We thank Peter for his generosity to agree to launch the website and to be the patron of the Law Handbook for 2009.

We also thank the Legal Services Board for funding the Law Handbook Online as a free service for the next two years.

This is a major step forward in access to justice for all Victorians.
