Overview

Fitzroy Legal Service is committed to law reform activities that achieve equality and social justice within the legal system for disadvantaged members of the community.

The term ‘law reform' includes reform of the law itself, administration of the law and legal policy.

Law reform activities may take a number of forms and vary greatly. However, they share the overarching goal of seeking to make the law and its administration more socially and legally just. They bring injustice and inequity to the attention of governments, other relevant institutions and the broader community. They also recommend and generate support for change.
