Social Action/Education
Overview
Social Action aims to increase awareness, understanding and critical examination of the law and legal system. It is envisaged with this awareness, understanding and critical capacity, members of the community will be better able to prevent legal disputes, and resolve legal problems when they arise. It is also envisaged that Community Legal Education( CLE) will increase community participation in law reform and increase the responsiveness and accountability of legal service providers.
Fitzroy Legal Service is committed to CLE as part of its overall social justice strategy. The core philosophy underlying its CLE activities is ‘the prevention or early resolution of legal disputes'.

Fitzroy Legal Service shall involve members of the community in all the stages of CLE (research and identification of CLE needs, development of activities, conducting activities and evaluation).
Fitzroy Legal Service shall form partnerships with other community organisations.
