Jennifer Black – Principal Solicitor
Jennifer joined us as a Senior Community Lawyer, based at the Neighbourhood Justice Centre, in September 2013. She moved to the position of Principal Solicitor in October 2016. Prior to joining us, Jennifer worked at Victoria Legal Aid in their Appeals and Strategy Team. She also has experience working with the North Australian Aboriginal Justice Agency. Jennifer holds a Bachelor of Laws (Honours) and Bachelor of Arts from the University of Melbourne, and is an Accredited Specialist in Criminal Law.
Emily Buchanan – Senior Criminal Lawyer
Emily joined us as our Senior Criminal Lawyer in December 2015. Having practised solely in criminal law for over a decade, Emily has particular experience in the representation of accused with multiple and complex needs. She has devoted five of her ten years’ practise to representing Aboriginal accused, through employment with the Victorian Aboriginal Legal Service and Kurnai Legal Practice. Emily was admitted to legal practice in May 2004, after completing a Bachelor of Arts/Bachelor of Laws at the University of Melbourne.
Ella Crotty – Senior Lawyer, Family Law & Family Violence
Ella joined us in March 2013 as a Legal Trainee. She was appointed a Family Lawyer in April 2014 and moved into her current role in January 2017. Prior to that, Ella worked as a paralegal at the Law Institute of Victoria and as a research assistant at Monash University. She has a Bachelor of Arts/Bachelor of Laws from Monash University.
Tori Diamond – Administration and Client Services Officer
Tori joined as our Administrative and Client Services Officer in January 2016. Previously, she spent three years working at Allens as a Legal Secretary, and two years working as a Marketing Assistant at List A Barristers.
Claudia Fatone – Executive Officer
Claudia has been our Executive Officer since April 2013. She is also a board member of the Victoria Law Foundation and director of Cricket Victoria. Prior to joining us, Claudia held a range of management roles including the Sector Development Manager at the Federation of Community Legal Centres, the Associate Director at Sport Employment Australia, the Women’s Cricket Operations Manager at Cricket Victoria and the Executive Officer of the Victorian Women’s Cricket Association. Claudia has a Bachelor of Commerce from Deakin University and a Graduate Diploma from the Australian Institute of Company Directors. She is a mentor with the Asista Mentoring Program which matches young women with volunteer mentors.
Meghan Fitzgerald – Social Action, Policy & Law Reform Manager
Meghan is our Manager of Social Action, Policy and Law Reform. She has been employed with us since 2008. Her current role involves community development/legal education activities, conduct of campaigns and law reform projects, and carriage of strategic litigation. Meghan sits on the Board of Harm Reduction Australia.
Julie Fletcher – Volunteer Coordinator
Julie has been a part of our team since 2009. For three years she worked as a volunteer paralegal in our day practice before becoming a member of staff and starting her current position of Volunteer Coordinator in 2011. Julie has worked in the legal field for many years. Having started out as a law student in far west New South Wales, Julie worked at a law firm for ten years as a paralegal assisting barristers and solicitors in a range of areas including workers’ compensation, third-party matters and taxation.
Yasmin Geneva – Criminal Lawyer
Yasmin joined FLS as one of our criminal lawyers in September 2017. Prior to becoming a member of the FLS team, Yasmin worked as a lawyer at Richard Revill Lawyers and as a paralegal at Leanne Warren & Associates. She has also volunteered at Youthlaw and the La Trobe Law Clinic. Yasmin has a Bachelor of Arts in Communication (Journalism) from the University of Technology in Sydney, and a Bachelor of Laws from La Trobe University in Melbourne.
Albert Kuan – Finance Officer
Albert has been our Finance Officer since May 2005. He is highly experienced, having worked in accounting and bookkeeping for more than 25 years. Prior to working with us, Albert was the Account Manager of a fruit and vegetable wholesaler. He has also been the bookkeeper for an Aboriginal Trading Co-operative and an Accounts Officer at the City of Northcote (now Darebin). Albert has an Associate Diploma of Business (Accounting) and is a Fellow of the Institute of Public Accountants.
Amre Levy – Family Lawyer (Family Law Accredited Specialist)
Amre has a Bachelor of Arts/Bachelor of Laws from Monash University, and upon graduation completed his articles at Behan & Speed. Several years in general practice followed before Amre focused on family and personal injury law. Amre was accredited as a Family Law Specialist in the 1990’s, and joined Webb, Stagg, Tonkin & Spark. He ran their Doncaster office, and developed a large following in Doncaster and Diamond Valley. He then joined and became a partner of Yuncken & Yuncken, a firm based in Melbourne with a large branch in Blackburn. He has been with us for the last nine years, practising exclusively in family law.

Naomi Saligari – The Law Handbook Editor
Naomi has been the editor of The Law Handbook since 2013. Prior to joining us, Naomi worked as a Senior Editor at Oxford University Press, and spent six years in various editorial roles at Macmillan Publishing. Naomi has a Bachelor of Arts from Melbourne University, and a Postgraduate Diploma in Editing and Publishing from RMIT University.
Bryony Seignior – Trainee Lawyer
Bryony joined us in March 2017 as our Trainee Lawyer. Bryony graduated from Queensland University of Technology with a Bachelor of Laws (Honours) in 2016. Her academic achievements include receiving the Dean’s List Award in 2015 and 2016. Previously, Bryony worked at VCAT as a Bench Clerk and in VCAT’s Registry. Bryony has also volunteered as a paralegal at WestJustice. A paper co-authored by Bryony, ‘Non-consensual porn and the responsibilities of online intermediaries’, will be published in the Melbourne University Law Review in 2017.
Adrian Snodgrass – Senior Lawyer and Night Service Manager (Monday to Thursday)
Adrian started work with us in 2005 as a Solicitor Advocate and the Managing Lawyer of our night service. For 10 years, he has managed the night service whilst also taking on other day roles including solicitor at the St Kilda Community Legal Service, Footscray Community Legal Centre, Public Interest Law Clearing House (now known as JusticeConnect) and Moonee Valley Legal Service. During 2014-2015, Adrian undertook the role of Senior Solicitor for our Taxi Driver Legal Service. He has a Bachelor of Arts from Charles Sturt University and a Master of Arts and Bachelor of Laws from the University of New South Wales.
Marc Vandenbroucke – Community Lawyer, Family Violence
Marc is our Community Lawyer; he predominately assists victims/survivors of family violence. He has been with us since March 2017. Prior to that, Marc worked for Legal Aid ACT for several years, first as a paralegal and then as a solicitor specialising in family violence matters. Marc has a Bachelor of Arts, a Bachelor of Laws and a Graduate Diploma of Legal Practice from Australian National University.
Tuvan Vuong – Finance Assistant
Tuvan started working with us in 2007 as a casual helping with The Law Handbook invoicing. Now she now works two days per week assisting our Finance Officer. Prior to working with us, she spent six years at Complete Commercial where she looked after their accounts receivable and accounts payable. Tuvan studied nursing at university.
Jennifer Ward – Community Development Officer
Jen has been our Community Development Officer since March 2017. Prior to joining us, Jen worked for Berry Street in the learning and development team. She has also worked in adult education and community development in Australia, East Timor and Mongolia. Jen has a Masters of Social Science (International Development).
Adam Willson – Drug Outreach Lawyer
Adam began working with us in 2015 as a volunteer; he moved to his current position of Drug Outreach Lawyer in February 2016. Prior to becoming a member of the team, Adam worked as a solicitor at Ruffin Lawyers. He was admitted to legal practice on 13 August 2014 after completing a Bachelor of Laws at La Trobe University and a Graduate Diploma in Practical Training at Leo Cussen Centre for Law. During his studies, Adam volunteered as a paralegal at the Victorian Aboriginal Legal Services and completed an internship centred on Aboriginal corporate governance at South Australian Native Title Services.
Natasha Wolan – Acting Senior Community Lawyer NJC
Natasha joined us in October 2011 as our Drug Outreach Lawyer and held the position of Solicitor Advocate from 2012 until August 2017. An accredited criminal law specialist, Natasha also has a Bachelor of Arts Law from Monash University and a Graduate Diploma in Legal Practice from the Leo Cussen Institute. She was admitted to the legal profession in February 2010. Prior to working with us, Natasha was a solicitor at Melbourne criminal law firm Melasecca, Kelly & Zayler; during this time she was the instructing solicitor in the Momcilovic High Court appeal.
