A wonderful opportunity exists to join our Public Interest Law team in the role of Lawyer - Prison Advocacy Program. This position is offered as a four day per week role, for an 11 month contract period.
In this role you will provide legal advice, information and advocacy on prison law to prisoners and their families in Victoria, as well as support our broader public interest work, including policy submissions, community legal education, and strategic litigation.
We are seeking a lawyer with at least one year post-admission experience in administrative law (preferably but not necessarily in a prison law context) along with experience delivering high volume legal advice, information and advocacy services to socially and economically disadvantaged clients. You will also have a commitment to social justice and highly developed communication and interpersonal skills.
